Overview

4 Star Scottish Farmhouse B&B with optional dinner here at the eastern gateway to The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, and is very much a family run guest house specialising in restful breaks in a quiet countryside location away from the stress of day to day living. The farmhouse nestles in the heart of the Trossachs with stunning views over green fields to rolling hills. The backdrop is the ever changing "Ben Ledi" and the only traffic around is the sheep and cows in the nearby fields.

The house is over 150 years old, stone built with thick walls but with every modern convenience including wireless internet access. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with all amenities to hand.

Right on our door step, the new cycleway (SUSTRAN 7) provides very easy cycling on a nearly level disused railway trackbed from here to Killin. Forest enterprise have provided cycle friendly pathways through the forests, and besides this, there are many easily accessible and enjoyable walks and tracks in the woods and hills surrounding Auchenlaich Farmhouse here at Callander.

Auchenlaich is only a third of a mile from the main road, 1 mile from Callander Village, 14 miles from Stirling and 45 miles from both Glasgow or Edinburgh. This makes us very centrally situated and a perfect base for touring.

Ground Floor room 6

Superior king room fully en-suite:
All on the ground floor level so very suitable for mobility impaired guests. Space is available in this room for a child's cot or additional single bed for those wishing to use it as a twin. Television with dvd & video player, hairdryer, small fridge and welcome tray.

Our superior rooms all have The 'Heavenly Experience' with new coil sprung mattresses, Egyptian cotton bedding & large fluffy pillows and towels

Then why not try one of our individual dinner parties we cater from 4 - 12 people with a menu designed to suit you and your guests with complimentary wine and we guarantee you no noise except gentle background music giving you and your guests to chance to catch up and enjoy a relaxing evening. Make it extra special with an overnight stay and a leisurely breakfast - that way you can have a lovely walk in the surrounding countryside to walk off the extra calories.

Auchenlaich Farmhouse makes the perfect base for touring the countryside as it is within easy reach of Stirling, Bridge of Allan, Perth, Dundee, Oban, Fort William, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Local Golf course is 5 minutes away. Lochearnhead and all its watersports is 15 minutes away, fishing and hill walking all around within 5 - 10 mins. Pony trekking 15 mins away.

So whatever your leisure preference you will find it nearby.

The Garden Area

Our walled garden is a lovely place to sit and relax when you don't feel like exploring anywhere else.

Being far from the road and surrounded by fields and woodlands you can just sit and listen to the silence being broken by birdsong and the occasional sounds of mother nature.

Outside the conservatory you have pride of place on the patio with stunning views of Ben Ledi.

Location of Auchenlaich

Auchenlaich Farmhouse is about 1 mile east of Callander on the north side of the A84 Stirling to Crianlarich road.

The house is in quiet countryside and scenic surroundings close to the mountains.

Directions

Our access road is beside the bridge over the Keltie burn, 1/3 of a mile southeast of Callander on the A84 road.

Coming from Callander, 1/3 mile past the 30 mph sign, turn left at our sign.

Coming from Stirling, 6 miles after leaving Doune, and before reaching Callander see our sign and turn right.
