Overview

Pen Y Bont Farmhouse provides a high standard of accommodation in a detached 300 year old Welsh farmhouse bursting with charm and character, within the Snowdownia National Park. The farmhouse retains many original features including exposed beams and wood burning stoves in inglenook fireplaces. It is situated in a superb location on the edge of Lake Bala, yet within just minutes walk of Bala town with its many amenities including swimming pool, quaint local shops, cosy and friendly pubs and award-winning restaurants.

 

Accommodation Details

Ground floor:

Living room with original slate floor and inglenook fireplace with log burning stove (initial basket of logs provided). Satellite TV, DVD, Video, CD players, and DVD/CD library.
Second living room also with log burning stove.
Dining room/kitchen with dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave.
Downstairs shower room with toilet.
Third living room with selection of games (sofa bed sleeps a further 2 if required).

First floor

Bed 1: king size bed and en-suite shower room.
Bed 2: king size and single beds.
Bed 3: two single beds.
Beds 4 and 5: single beds.
Bathroom with bath and shower.
Separate toilet.

 

Price Guide:

Low season �494 - �620 pw. 3 night breaks from �387.
High season �800 - �1195 pw.

General Details

Outside

Ample parking within the grounds.
The grounds include a large garden, shaded wood area, stream, and its very own listed ancient monument (Castell Gronw), with fabulous views, perfect for barbecues whilst watching the sunset over the lake.
Chiminea and portable barbecue provided.
Well behaved pets welcome.

Local Activities

Within easy (15 mins) walking distance of the town centre with many shops, pubs and restaurants.
Also within easy walking distance are sailing, windsurfing and canoe hire, cycle hire, leisure centre, swimming pool and steam railway.
Just minutes away are many activities including white water rafting, paintballing, high ropes, 4x4 guided safaris, mountain bike trails and breathtaking scenery for simply walking and exploring the countryside.
All areas of north and mid Wales are easily accessible by car including the beautiful beaches of Barmouth, Fairbourne and Shell Island, other attractions worth a visit are Snowdon, Llechwedd Slate Caverns, King Arthurs Labyrinth, Portmeirion, Llangollen, Betws-y-Coed and Chester.
