Overview

Logie Elphinstone House is 16 miles west of Aberdeen, in the Royal Burgh of Inverurie and was built in the 1670s on estate lands purchased by Laurence Elphinstone in 1492. Originally a fortified tower house, extensive modifications took place during the 17th and 18th centuries, to give the magnificent house, set in it's own estate, that you see today.

The entire thirteen bedroom private house provides extremely warm, comfortable, relaxing, well thought out accommodation. Filled with antiques and history, with an indoor swimming pool, cinema, gym, some jacuzzis, courtyards and a private island. The main eight bedroom house and adjoining five bedroom guest wing are available as an exclusive venue for weddings, events or as five star accommodation.

 

Accommodation Details

The accommodation comprises the 8 bedroom main house and the 5 bedroom guest wing and can sleep up to 32 guests. The guest wing and main house are both self contained and are joined by the tower on two floors. They can be rented separately or as a whole.

The main section of Logie has 8 bedrooms comprising of 6 doubles (3 en-suite) with King or Queen size beds, 1 en-suite twin and an en-suite dormitory with 4 bunk beds (Yes, stick the kids in here and lock the door). The master bedroom has a separate dressing room and a free standing bath that is about 8 feet long, a shower, twin sinks and separate a WC. The main section of the house also has exclusive access to the gym and indoor pool as well as its own cinema room and outdoor hot tub.

The guest wing of Logie has 5 bedrooms: 4 doubles (one en-suite), 2 with queen size beds, the other with small doubles and a twin. Downstairs is a large lounge with an inglenook fireplace. The kitchen is very well equipped with a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer and adjoined dining room that will seat ten. The guest wing also has its own exclusive outdoor hot tub. All linen and towels are provided and we also have hypo-allergenic bedding available if you require. Toiletries and a welcome hamper will also be provided.

General Details

The house is eco-friendly, it is heated by a log burning boiler that uses timber from the surrounding area (currently waste building wood, windblown trees and dead Elm). The boiler is lit and filled by our onsite gardener.

Outside in the shared courtyard, the old game store has been converted into a well equipped shared gym with Nordic track cross trainer, rowing machine, spin bike, vibrating plate and an incline trainer. We also have free weights, skipping ropes, mats TV, DVD, excercise videos & towels.

There are two Canadian 7/8 person Spas outside. One for the guest wing and one for the main house.

The indoor 9 meter infinity pool in the south wing has a lounging area and is UV / Electrode sterilised (unless it blows up, which it does a lot), rather than chlorinated, to minimise irritation and smell. The pool is exclusively for the use of the main house guests.
