Overview

Darrynane cottages, 4 detached properties set in a beautiful moorland valley with private fenced and gated gardens and parking, sleeping from 2 - 6 people in 1, 2 and 3 bedroomed cottages. All have fully fitted kitchens with electric ovens, fridge freezers, microwaves, woodburning stoves, shower/wet rooms or bath with shower. BBQ and outdoor furniture. All the cottages have wooden floors and leather or leather type furniture in the lounge. Open all year and Pet/dog friendly.

 

Accommodation Details

The Lodge sleeps 2 is the oldest of the properties being built over 100 years ago it has a lounge with original brick fireplace with woodburning stove, a separate kitchen/dining area and four poster bed in the double room, a dressing area and bath with shower. Outside there is a terrace steps leading to the drive and garden beyond.
Lakeside cottage, sleeps 4, has a double and twin bedroom, a shower room and the L shaped lounge leads to the kitchen. The patio overlooks the oak woods.Parking for two cars.
The Stables, sleeps 4, is our spacious new cottage built in 2011. It has a double with four poster bed and twin/super king option. There is a wet room and further cloakroom. The large kitchen/dining room/lounge has a woodburning stove and french windows opening onto the patio and back lawned garden. Parking for two cars.
Riverside cottage, sleeps 6, rebuilt in 2012 has a double with ensuite shower room, a twin and further twin/super king option. The lounge with its woodburning stove leads to the dining area with french windows overlooking the patio and the good sized garden beyond. There is parking for three cars.

General Details

Darrynane cottages are situated in a beautiful moorland valley surrounded by woods, waterfalls and the river. Each cottage either overlooks Tor River as it meanders to the River Camel or Darrynane woods with its oaks, rowan, ash, hazel and sycamore trees. A nature haven for wildlife including deer, fox, badgers, rabbits and squirrels. The bird life is abundant too with jays, buzzards circling over head, bullfinches flitting in the undergrowth, tree creepers handing on the bark of the trees just to mention a few. The waterfall, over 25ft high is a spectacular sight especially after a heavy shower. Visitors are encouraged to explore the grounds with its pre-historic cave and its two ponds. Other Information

Darrynane Cottages are based on the foothills of Bodmin Moor in the moorland village of St Breward. It has a busy well stocked village shop and Post office and internet cafe. The Old Inn is well worth a visit too. Walking from the cottages is simple, just open the gate up or down the lane. Bodmin Moor with its acres of wilderness is a mile away as is the Camel Trail Cycle path starting at Wenfordbridge and finishing in Padstow 17 miles away. Travelling around is easy with the A30 and A39 closeby making the North and South Coast beaches, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude, Port Isaac, Padstow, Polzeath, Daymer Bay, Fowey, Polperro and Looe all easily accessible. As is the Eden Project and the many gardens of Cornwall.
