Nine 4* stone cottages in a converted dairy barn in a spectacular location in the heart of the Peak District, overlooking High Wheeldon and the Dragon�s Back. Winners of the Silver Award in the East Midlands Enjoy England Excellence Awards in both 2009 and 2010, customer service is of great importance as are high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.

 

Accommodation Details

Nine beautifully renovated self-catering cottages sleeping from 1 to 5 people, 30 in total, with a well-equipped games room (table football, pool table, DVDs, books, puzzles and maps) which also seats up to 30 for communal dining.

 

Price Guide:

A cottage for two starts at �205 for a short break off-season; a cottage for 4/5 is �730 for 7 nights in high season.

 

General Details

All our cottages have open plan living, dining and kitchen areas; under-floor heating, comfy leather furniture, flat-screen TVs, DVD and CD players; kitchens are comprehensively equipped; fully carpeted bedrooms, pocket sprung mattresses with memory foam toppers; stylish and contemporary bathrooms.

Each cottage has stone work and exposed beams; many have small rear terraces with table and chairs for enjoying the views. A grassy area is ideal for playing and the hens are free-range. The courtyard is kept mainly car-free and there is plenty of parking available .


Sheldon Cottage is our easy access cottage, all on one level with a wet-room. It also has a shower chair and a riser-recliner armchair.

Heating, electricity, hot water, linen, towels, WiFi, toiletries, cleaning material, and use of laundry room all included.

Breakfast baskets are available on request with home-baked bread together with organic sausages and bacon, our own eggs and home-made butter, yoghurt and granola. Home-made meals such as Shepherd's Pie, Lasagne and Fish Pie with Chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding or Sticky Toffee Pudding with lashings of locally produced vanilla ice-cream are also available from the 'store'. You can enjoy a quiet night in without even having to cook!

Cots, highchairs, stairgates and lots of additional equipment are also available.

Ideal for couples, families and groups our cottages are perfect for summer strolls, winter walks and the many attractions of the Peak District.

Comprehensive Guest Information folders offer information on many aspects of the Peak District including local history and geology. Many guests return again and again as there is so much to do!

Situated 6 miles from Buxton and 8 miles from Bakewell. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are about 30 minutes away, and Alton Towers is about 45 minutes. Owners Deborah and Martin live on site and are usually available to offer advice on walks or visits as well as where to get the best pub lunch!
