Come and discover this hidden gem in Southern Spain where the mountains meet the sea. Officially Vera Playa, but actually located in the Las Marinas area, between Puerto Rey and Garrucha and said to be the place where Hannibal landed his elephants in Roman times.

The Costa Almeria is located in the South of Spain between the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol. This is an area of Spain without the high rise hotels and apartments of the bigger Costas and is where the Spanish choose to go on holiday.

Don’t come here if you are looking for children’s clubs and English pubs (although you can get a pint of Guinness nearby).
Do come here if you are looking for peace and quiet, beautiful yet not crowded beaches, a peaceful complex with 2 lovely communal pools open from May to October.

Don’t come here if you are looking for a large town with Marks & Spencer and Next.
Do come here if you like quaint Spanish villages and tourist towns with Spanish cafes and restaurants.

Don’t come here if you like to be within 2 metres of your neighbour on the beach.
Do come here for lovely sandy beaches that even in the middle of August you will find plenty of room for your family.

Don’t come here if you want to be entertained the whole time.
Do come here to relax, swim, sun bathe, maybe scuba or even walk in the spectacular Cabo de Gato National Park where rainfall is said to be rarer than gold dust.

This Garrucha Apartment is about 1.25 hours from Murcia aiport and about 45 mins from Almeria airport. Alicante airport is just over 2 hours drive. All of which are served by low cost airlines.

 

Accommodation Details

This 1st floor Apartment, although officially in Vera Playa is actually closer to Garrucha. It has a seperate private entrance from the ground floor, then from the 1st floor there is also private access to the solarium (sun terrace).

This apartment has 3 bedrooms. 1 double and 2 twin, 2 bathrooms, 1 with bath and shower and 1 with shower.

The kitchen has oven, hob with 4 hot plates, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. It is fully equipped with saucepans, kettle and all necessary crockery and glasses.

The dining area has a table and 6 chairs with a hatch through to the kitchen.

The lounge has a terrace overlooking other gardens with views to the mountains.

On top of the apartment is a large private roof top solarium/sun terrace with shower. An outdoor table and chairs. 2 sun loungers are also provided.

Also on the roof is a separate storage room. A washing machine is located here for your use.

General Details

Garrucha is a beautiful and lively fishing town that still retains much of its original charm. Over the last few years it has become a popular tourist destination. Its tourist slogan is Garrucha, Sun and Seafood; the town is famous for the quality of its large red prawns, only fished in the local waters. Garrucha has a strong fishing industry, its main source of income, with a large port for both commercial and leisure pursuits.

2 small supermarkets within 5 minutes walk. 2 large supermarkets with 5 minutes drive. Several bars and restaurants in easy walking distance.

The beach is 5 minutes walk - allow 10 minutes with toddlers.
