We have six guest bedrooms available, two double en-suite rooms (one of which is a super king sized bed), two family en-suite rooms (one with a double and two single beds which can also be used as a en-suite triple and one room with a double and a single

 

General Details

Although Ambleside dates back to Roman times, this picturesque village is dominated by the Victorian, Lakeland stone buildings. Nestled in the heart of the Lake District it is an ideal location to set up base before exploring the beautiful countryside.

There are numerous walks up mountains and through valleys as well as plenty of places to visit by car or cycle.

On Lake Windermere, in addition to boat hire and the various watersports activities, you can cruise down the Lake on the Steamer.

On wet days there are museums, country houses, and Beatrix Potter's Hill Top house (where she wrote many of her Peter Rabbit tales) to visit, not to mention a whole array of places to eat, drink and shop.

By Car

Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 36 and turn left onto the A591 towards Windermere.

After approximately 5 miles you will come to a roundabout where you need to carry straight on, heading towards Windermere.

After 10 miles you will come to a mini-roundabout where you again need to carry straight on heading towards Ambleside.

After another 5 miles you will reach a set of traffic lights. Carry straight on and after approximately half a mile you will find Lyndale Guest House on the right hand side of the road, opposite Hayes Garden World.

Free overnight parking available 6pm to 8am at Lowfold pay & display car park 100 yards from Lyndale Guest House. Cost is �7.00 for a full 10 hour stay.
