Accommodation Details

GOLD award winning B&B, Penn Peel Cottage is a delightful country cottage dating back to 1860 which is full of charm and character. The cottage is situated on a quiet country lane in the picturesque rural village of Bomere Heath, close to the medieval town of Shrewsbury. A very warm welcome awaits you at our 4* luxury accommodation.

The accommodation is full of character including beams and log burner in the cosy lounge. There is a choice of breakfasts from locally sourced produce including free range eggs with home cured bacon and sausages from the prestigious Battlefield 1403 Farmshop served on fine china. We have luxurious ground floor rooms with en-suites (one with wet room) which are easily accessible.

The Bomere

The Bomere is a double room with en-suite shower room (quadrant shower, washbasin and toilet). There is a comfortable double bed, an LCD TV offering Freeview, DVD, radio and usb, radio alarm clock with ipod/iphone dock, free Wifi and hairdryer along with a hospitality tray for tea and coffee plus handbaked biscuits. Luxurious toiletries include shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap known for their skin care properties, showers caps, essential kits (cotton wool pads, buds, nail file, sewing kit), shoe shines, garden bird guide, local magazines, chocolates and fresh flowers.

The Merrington

The Merrington is a twin room and has an en-suite wet room with walk-in shower, wash basin and toilet. Comfortable beds await you along with an LCD TV offering Freeview, DVD, radio and usb, radio alarm clock with ipod/iphone dock, free Wifi and hairdryer plus hospitality tray for tea, coffee and handbaked biscuits. General Details

Within walking distance, there is a public house (Red Lion) with live music nights, shop, post office, fish and chip takeaway, hairdressers with beauty salon, village hall (open to non-members), tennis court, cricket ground and children�s play area. Fishing can be undertaken at Merrington Green, the River Severn or one of the meres in Ellesmere.

This is a village gone back in time located 4 miles north of Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire. With views towards Pim Hill, which rises to 163m and covered in Rhodendrums in early summer, Bomere Heath is easily accessible to Shrewsbury, Ellesmere, Oswestry, Chester, North Wales, Ironbridge Gorge, Church Stretton, Bridgnorth and Ludlow.

In the dining conservatory, to keep your drinks or food purchases cool, you will find a silent fridge. Use of a microwave for takeaway meals is also available in an evening. The use of an iron, ironing board and adjustable shower stool is available on request. Also, there is a travel cot and high chair available for our younger guests
