A warm welcome awaits you at Puttocks Farm, a working arable farm, set in a peaceful, rural location just outside the delightful market town of Great Dunmow. Accommodation is provided in a converted barn and breakfast is served in the conservatory with lovely countryside views. Ideally situated for Stansted airport.

 

Accommodation Details

The rooms are provided in a ground floor accommodation and are furnished to a high standard. All have central heating, en-suite shower/WC, colour television, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer. All of the rooms have a refrigerator and there is Wireless Internet access in all rooms. There are ample parking facilities.

General Details

A hearty breakfast using good local produce is served in the large conservatory which has panoramic views of the surrounding farmland. For those leaving early a continental breakfast is available to eat in your room or to take away. Roger and Jane can cater for any special dietary requirements; please let them know at the time of booking.

No pets except guide dogs.

 

Other Information

Puttocks is a working, arable farm of 117 acres. We grow wheat, oilseed rape, beans and potatoes. Until 2003 we raised beef cattle but now our only animals are our cats and our Labrador dog - Jasper. The name Puttocks is derived from 'Puddar', which means 'on a hill'. You can take a walk through the country lanes, keeping an eye out for the deer and muntjac that regularly pass through the farm.

There are many beautiful and interesting places to visit locally: The Countess of Warwick's Easton Lodge with its lakes and leafy walks, Hatfield Forest, the stately home of Audley End, Duxford Imperial War Museum, Stansted Mountfitchet Castle, Great Dunmow Museum & Freeport Shopping Village. You can also explore the pretty villages and towns with ancient churches, windmills and monuments.
