Overview

The Windmill Bed and Breakfast is an 18th Century converted Windmill and now a Grade II listed building. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac, The Windmill is just a five minutes' walk from the town centre, station and Stephen Joseph Theatre.

We have free parking in our courtyard for up to 7 cars and when that is full, we provide free passes to enable you to park in Mill Street.

 

Accommodation Details

We are a non-smoking establishment throughout and regrettably do not accept pets.
We have nine en-suite courtyard rooms - six on the ground floor and three on the verandah overlooking the courtyard. There is a mix of double, one family, twin and four-poster rooms at the prices quoted above. There are also two Suites in The Windmill where a family/couple can also cater for themselves.

A hearty breakfast is taken on the ground floor of The Windmill where you can also view our Contemporary Toy Museum with toys dating from 1960s onwards.

General Details

The Windmill was built in 1784 and is Scarborough's last remaining windmill. At one time in Scarborough's history there were up to five windmills in the area.

The Windmill was once surrounded by open countryside but over the years, as Scarborough as expanded, is now very close to the town centre with all the amenities the town has to offer.
We are a five minute walk from the train and bus station and there are numerous restaurants within an easy distance from us.

The beach is a pleasant 20 minute downward amble - we're on a hill - with amusements, donkey rides and boat trips all on offer.
