Picturebook, 400 year old, thatched cottage, on our farm, overlooking fields & woods.
In the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty, and close to the Thames Valley, there are lots of places to visit, walks, picnic sites, boat rides, fishing etc.

Oxford, Stratford on Avon, Bath, Windsor, Stonehenge, the Cotswolds, Wessex Downs, Salisbury Plain, Watership Down are all easily within reach by car, and London is only half an hour from Reading by train.

 

Accommodation Details

The cottage has three bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin, 1 single) and a family bathroom.
The well equipped kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher etc.
The cosy living room has an oil fired Rayburn which warms the house & heats the water, settees & armchair, TV, DVD, radio, telephone, WiFi broadband etc .
The dining room has exposed beams and overlooks the garden & fields.
The lawned garden is great for children to play, and adults to relax.
There is plenty of room for parking in the lower garden or the farm lane outside.

 

Price Guide:

575 pounds per week high season (June to September and Bank Holiday weeks)

475 pounds per week low season (October to May excluding Bank Holiday weeks)

 

General Details

Brambly Thatch is one of two self catering cottages on our Coombe End Farm. We have offered it for nearly 30 years, but constantly repair & replace fixtures & fittings to keep it a cosey "home from home" for our guests. It is inspected each year to assure you of its quality, (exceeding ETC 3 star standards).
On our 150 hectare farm we have over 100 beef cattle, grow arable crops (which you can see from the cottage), and encourage all sorts of wildlife through Government schemes - we have Fallow, Roe & Muntjac Deer, Foxes, Badgers, Red Kites, Buzzards, Kestrels, & Sparrowhawks and we were lucky enough to find a pair of barn owls have nested in the farmyard in 2012.
