Kirkby Stephen 6 miles is a bustling market town with supermarket shopping Tourist Information Centre library pubs and restaurants. Appleby an ancient market town with inns and shops lies 7 miles away also has a public swimming pool. Great Asby (3 miles) has a pub serving food.
