Built of Ham stone and Cob in the 1700's as part of the old village Cider house, our character cottage sleeps up to 6 (plus baby) with a discount for two people only. It is ideally situated for exploring all of Dorset's World Heritage Jurassic Coast with your dog - a gloriously scenic region of outstanding natural beauty.
Our really dog friendly, holiday cottage is in the quiet heart of a conservation area of the old village of Bradpole, near Bridport. The village store is close by, as are footpaths and river walks. Just three miles from unspoiled, dog friendly, National Trust beaches and the Dorset coast path, it is equidistant from the medieval village of Abbotsbury and Georgian Lyme Regis.

General Details

We welcome well behaved dogs and make no charge. 10% of the rental goes to Many Tears Animal rescue, Our local beach is dog friendly all year and there are many livestock free walks in the area. We have owned Clematis Cottage for over 17 years and have welcomed many returning guests year after year. We decorate for Christmas, our cottage is warm and cosy and Dorset is glorious in the winter. A recent guest wrote "What a wonderful week and fabulous cottage. So clean and well equipped and the welcome basket is a lovely touch. What a great location, so much to explore we absolutely have to return very soon"

 

Other Information

Bridport, dubbed by the Gurdian 'a slow food town' abounds in farm shops and has a regular Farmers Market. Dog friendly Hive Beach cafe (recommended by Rick Stein) and the Riverside Restaurant at West Bay, have international reputations. It is not hard to find dog friendly pubs or excellent food in our part of Dorset.
Fishing, Golf, Horse riding, sailing,walking, photography and of course fossil hunting are all activities within easy reach of Clematis Cottage
