Overview
Grace Cottage, an old black house and former croft,
enjoys spectacular panoramic views over Loch Torridon,
the Applecross mountains and beyond this to the Isle of
Skye. Diabaig is Norse for deep bay and a short
downhill walk from the cottage brings you to a perfect
horseshoe cove.
Approached over a glorious mountain road and through
the unique, unspoiled, area of Glen Torridon (which has
been described as the oldest glen in the world) our
fully renovated character holiday home sleeps up to
four people.Heated by controllable storage heaters
(which come on in the day at low rate too) Grace
Cottage is warm in winter and thick stone walls ensure
that it is cool in summer. There is unrivalled walking
from the door. Sea eagles and Peregrine Falcons, sea
otters and seals have all been seen in the cove.
A quote from Wainwright aptly describes the location."
The tiny port of Diabaig is charming, a miniature fit
for framing. The pier is small, the cottages few and
tidily arranged, the little beaches a delight for
pebble collectors, the bay a narrow inlet of Loch
Torridon where only the cry of sea birds disturbs the
silence"
Grace Cottage is perfect for lovers and dreamers.

General Details
There is really nothing we can say that will do justice to the lochs and mountains around Diabaig. The changing light is an artist and photographer's dream. The stars fill the heavens and the dawn is rarely less than dramatic. Walking, you may see wildlife and birds found only in this area, as well as deer, otter and mountain goats. The coastal path goes for miles and miles, allowing you to see Skye and the Outer Hebrides in all their glory. Whatever the weather, one is always drawn into the solitude found in this unique landscape.
There are so many mountains over 3000' around Diabaig that the Munro 'bagger' will be wondering which ones to choose and the leisure walker will have so many waterfalls and lochans to see that they will hardly have time to take them all in. Those seeking respite from city life will find beauty just by stepping outside Grace Cottages door and strolling on the mountain pass. The Highlands are a land of rainbows, tumbling streams, vast wilderness and rugged emptiness. Our cottage sits in this landscape as it has for centuries, in a timeless zone of peace and tranquillity.
A professional photographer guest said Snow, ice, sunshine, white clouds, rain, stillness, technicolour dawns and sunsets, charm, - If you want it all its all here - Golden eagles inclusive!
