4 Star AA luxury self-catering accommodation in C18th renovated Coach House in Goodrich, near to Ross on Wye in Herefordshire, Wye Valley. Old beams and log burner in contemporary style. Peaceful setting.

All the accommodation is on the first floor, reached via stone steps. There is a super king-size double bedroom (zip & link beds which can be two singles on request) with a luxury en-suite shower room with fitted furniture and a heated towel rail. The spacious open plan living area, with a kitchen and dining area has a very comfortable leather settee and a single sofa chair bed in front of a cosy wood-burner. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and has an electric oven & hob, microwave, integrated fridge with small freezer compartment and a dishwasher. The separate small utility room is accessed from the veranda and is ideal to hang coats and dry walking boots etc. It has a washing machine.

There is a flatscreen TV with Freeview, DVD, and a stereo/CD player. WiFi access is available if guests bring their laptops. Fuel together with a starter pack for the wood-burner is included in the rent in cooler months. Further logs and kindling are supplied at a small extra cost. All bed linen, towels and tea towels are included in the rent. It has central heating throughout. A cot & highchair is available on request. Sorry, no pets & no smoking.

The veranda is a wonderful place to sit and listen to the birdsong. The woodland garden has a patio with table and chairs and a BBQ and there is another seating area with table and chairs in the front garden which catches the afternoon sun. Off road parking is available for 1 car.

General Details

Granton Coach House is an 18th Century stone built property, in the grounds of Granton House, situated in the village of Goodrich between Ross on Wye and Monmouth in the Wye Valley. The village has a good shop and post office and two friendly pubs serving good food. Beautifully restored in August 2009, this superb Herefordshire cottage offers extremely comfortable accommodation that is set entirely on the first floor, (the ground floor is the owner�s storeroom). It has an original wooden floor, contemporary furnishings, lots of exposed beams and a cosy wood-burner. The spacious open plan living area has a high beamed ceiling, offering bright, airy accommodation, whilst the romantic king-size bedroom has the benefit of a luxurious en-suite shower room.

The coach house is in an ideal location for either a holiday or short break, with so much to see as well as plenty of activities available locally, e.g. walking, forest trails, fishing, canoeing, horse riding or golf, and there are beautiful gardens to visit nearby as well as National Trust properties. The house is located approximately 40 minutes from the Chepstow, Hereford and Cheltenham racecourses. Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham airports are approximately an hour away with Heathrow airport being approximately two and a half hours away. The Celtic Manor golf course that is staging the Ryder Cup, is about 35 minutes away by car. Goodrich Castle, managed by English Heritage is just a short walk away and is well worth a visit. The market towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth are close by as are the spectacular Symonds Yat, the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the Royal Forest of Dean. Cardiff, Hay on Wye ( famous for it�s literary festival), Abergavenny (famous for it�s food festival), Hereford, Malvern (famous for RHS Spring and Autumn Shows), and the Cotswolds are all less than an hours drive away. It is a superb cottage for 2/3 people to enjoy a romantic and memorable holiday or short break.
