Overview
Kale Pot Cottage is a converted 18th Century barn �
offering peace and tranquillity � in comfort.
The four star Gold Award cottage is set on its own in
our 3 acre paddock yet only 100 yards from a tarmac
forest drive.
There are neighbours � badgers, foxes and roe deer are
regularly seen � owls and woodpeckers heard. Our
isolated location means that on a clear night you won�t
believe how many stars there are!
Situated just 10 miles from the bustling market town of
Pickering Kale Pot Cottage is convenient for moors and
coast � and only 45 minutes from the historic city of
York.
Yet on the doorstep is beautiful Newtondale � right in
the heart of the North York Moors National Park.
Accommodation Details
Downstairs Kale Pot Cottage has a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (doubling as family bathroom) and twin bedroom with space for third bed,with wetroom. The fully fitted kitchen, lounge and dining area are upstairs (to take full advantage of the views). There is full central heating and a log stove in the lounge, which also has a sofa bed. Outside is plenty of parking space, a private barbecue area, and access to the three acres of paddock.
Price Guide:
Prices range from �325 to �575 per week, Saturday to Saturday and we offer short breaks from November to February.
General Details
Kale Pot Cottage offers ideal facilities for walkers, cyclists and horse riders � with miles of forestry tracks starting from the front door � and the open moor just beyond. For train enthusiasts � we are halfway between Levisham Station and Newtondale Halt on the NY Moors Railway (you can even see the steam trains from the paddock).
But if you just want to soak up the peace and quiet � you need go no further than the barbecue area or the paddock outside the front door.
Other Information
For days out there are a wealth of attractions within easy reach � Historic houses include Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall. Whitby with its Captain Cook connections (and superb fish and chips) is less than half an hour away � and bustling Scarborough (a favourite with kids of all ages) is a few minutes more. For those seeking a whitewater thrill the Tees course is about an hour away. Closer is Flamingoland with its zoo and boasting some of the biggest rides around. More tranquil attractions include Lavender Farms, Walled Gardens and museums - Eden Camp an ex WW2 prison camp being one of the more unusual. Familiar from TV are Thirsk � home to vet James Herriott and Goathland � the Aidensfield of �Heartbeat�.
