No 1 The Gables is a charming stone built period property situated just south of Stratford upon Avon off the A3400, it dates back to the 1700s and is full of surprises and old character features, original doors, wood panelling, window seats, fire places and beams remain throughout.

Careful thought has been put into choosing suitable decorations and furnishings of the highest standard to create a very welcoming, comfortable and homely ambiance. The cottage is centrally heated and a log effect electric fire is there for very cold weather.

Through the front door is a welcoming dining hall with table, chairs, a beamed ceiling, beautiful wood panelled walls, a flagstone floor and an imposing inglenook fireplace.

The most attractive sitting room has a fireplace, oak beamed ceiling, comfortable chairs and settee. It is equipped with a digital freeview television, a Digital Radio and a CD/DVD player.

Off the dining room there is a modern fully equipped kitchen with a Belfast sink, plenty of storage space, a microwave, an electric cooker and a dishwasher. The property also comprises a spacious cellar where there is a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

Upstairs, off the landing, are two prettily furnished spacious, bright and airy bedrooms, both with period features. One room has a double bed and the other has twin beds. Both rooms have televisions and ample storage space.

Adjacent to the bedrooms is spacious landing with a period fireplace and off this is a large pine floored bathroom with shower and bath and a window overlooking the courtyard.

General Details

This perfect escape to the country can be found down a quiet lane overlooking the Village Green in Newbold on Stour where the local shop and Post Office, two village pubs, inc The White Heart, a village hall, bowling club and church are all within two minutes walk, A highly recommended farm shop can also be found close by as well as The Bell at Alderminster which is excellent for food.

The village of Newbold on Stour, which has an excellent bus service, is very close to the historic town of Stratford upon Avon, perfect for the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, visiting the Shakespeare properties, exploring the town or enjoying a trip on the River Avon. Stratford also offers a very good cinema and countless excellent places to eat and drink.

Amongst the surrounding towns and villages in the area is the county town of nearby Warwick with its superb church and museums and its most famous magnificent mediaeval castle. Leamington Spa is well known for its historic Pump Rooms and the Jefferson Gardens and the town also provides the more modern facilities for shopping.
