Overview

Situated in the centre of Chapel Stile, Pilgrims Rest used to be home to the Vicar of Holy Trinity Church (30 yds up the hill). Since the building of the new vicarage it's been used as a part time residence and is currently owned by Peter & Caroline Byram, who intend to retire to Chapel Stile after they've stopped working quite so hard in the south.

 

Accommodation Details

The house is in a superb position overlooking much of the village & surrounding fells. Only two minutes walk from the door to the shop & a further minute to the Pub. A spacious property with a traditional large porch leading into a central entrance hallway, from the hall is a large dining room with antique dining table & comfortable seating for eight - a super place to have your family dinner. Opposite is a good sized living room with gas fire, comfortable couches and TV/DVD player with Freesat. At the rear of the house is the kitchen with its own entry porch (ideal for muddy boot removal) the kitchen is Oak and has a traditional green oil fired Aga and breakfast table. A more conventional oven is also fitted for those who don't fancy their chances with the Aga. A small TV with Freesat ensures whoever cooks, doesn't have to miss 'Eastenders' or 'Corrie'. The Utility room has a second fridge & a washer/dryer plus plenty of storage for that essential supply of Wine and Beer. Just off this room is a downstairs w/c and hand-wash basin.
Upstairs are four spacious bedrooms, two king-size and two twin rooms. The two kingsize bedrooms at the front of the house offer fantastic views over the village, both have seating in the bay windows if you want to have some peace and quiet. The master king has its own shower room, while the other bedrooms share the main bathroom and separate toilet.
Outside the enclosed terraced garden with stream, offers ample space for BBQs and eating out, with table just outside the door. Re landscaping is being done in early 2011 (see pic). Parking for 3 - 4 cars. Now has WiFi
