Overview

Rose Cottage is a very pretty 18th Century holiday cottage located near the centre of a beautiful Cotswold village. It is full of features that provide a charming atmosphere including wood burner and delightful cottage garden, and can accommodate four guests. The cottage sits on a country lane that turns into a path which goes down to the pretty stream that meanders its way through the village.

The large windows have charming views over the back garden and across the rooftops and gardens to the valley beyond. There is luxury linen on the king size and super king size beds, making it perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. Equally the beds can be unzipped to make two twin bedded rooms upon request.

The village is very well known for its Victorian brewery and visitors centre, and is surrounded by Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a Pottery and a thriving large village shop and post office. From the village there are plenty of walks (The D'Arcy Dalton Way runs nearby) and cycle routes in and around the Village, with many more pub-related ones published in the local CAMRA magazine.

The main village pub is just a stones throw from the cottage and has a great chef and a regularly changing menu. With three other pubs in the village where you can sample the famous Hooky Ales, you will be spoilt for choice with places to eat and drink (all have roaring fires in the winter!).

This is an ideal location for exploring the pretty Cotswold villages and towns. The cottage is within forty mins of Oxford with it�s stunning Colleges, galleries and museums; Shakespeare�s Stratford-upon-Avon; Woodstock (the home to Blenheim Palace) and the Cotswold villages of Bourton-on-the-Water; Burford and the historic town of Stow-on-the-Wold.

There are many activities in the area to enjoy including fishing on Blenheims historic lakes (fifteen mins), fantastic golf courses (five mins), riding (five mins), pottery lessons (ten mins), hot air ballooning (thirty mins), trial and pleasure flights/ parachuting (fifteen mins), paint balling (thirty mins), punting or boating (thirty mins), shooting (thirty mins) and many more.

Our booking week runs from Friday to Friday but we also take bookings for weekend breaks. Prices for a week range from �275 in low season (November to February except Christmas and New Year period), to �525 in the summer holidays, Easter, Christmas and Ne

 

General Details

Rose Cottage enjoys a central position in the country so is ideal for use as a base for visiting the Cotswolds, Oxford and Stratford. It is 90 minutesby car or train to London and about 40 minutes to Birmingham.

 

Other Information

The cottage is child and dog friendly and there is space for a single car to park just outside the cottageon the lane. The cottage also has WiFi unlimited web access, Freesat TVand DVDplayer.
