- a beautifully restored eco-friendly substantial former working farmhouse & traditional barns set in 4 acres of its own gardens & land. We offer you a warm welcome, lovely accommodation and a terrific breakfast using the best of our local Devon produce.

Who�s it for?
- ideal for a short break or seasonal holiday; a stop-over en route to West Devon or Cornwall; family reunions; honeymooners; those on business (seeking a refreshing change from hotels or motorway lodges); overseas visitors we'll be glad to show you our favourite spots; pilots coming into Dunkeswell Airfield, make a weekend of it -we can collect & return you to the airfield.

- nestling in the magnificent tranquil village of Luppitt in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, yet just 10 minutes from the Devon market town of Honiton and under 30 mins from the sea, we count ourselves very fortunate. Here time seems to stand still. It�s a place to escape life�s worries , refresh your mind & body & renew your energy.

Revive your senses!
- once you�re settled in & relaxed at Dolish Farmhouse, you may not want to leave! Start from the gate & take time to walk down the lane, smell new-mown hay, see bumblebees in the grass, stop by a field to listen to contented cattle munching. These sensory treats so easily pass us by in our busy lives.

Lots to do!
- although the Farmhouse is a wonderful place to rest, it�s perfectly placed for exploring the area.

World Heritage Jurassic coast!
- the lovely south coast towns of Sidmouth, Branscombe, the fishing village of Beer, Seaton & Lyme Regis are all within 30 mins. drive. To the southwest lie Budleigh Salterton, famous for its beautiful clean pebble beach and striking red cliffs and nearby sandy Exmouth beach.

Ideas to whet your appetite!
.. browse stalls at Honiton street market; relax over coffee in one of the many caf�s.
.. walk the South Coastal Path or explore ancient woods at nearby Hembury Fort.
.. help save energy (and your legs!) � hire an electric bike;
.. try your hand at sea-fishing (trips from Beer); fly-fish the River Otter or local trout lakes.
.. take an �Air Experience� flight or tandem sky-dive from Dunkeswell Airfield; or a 4�4 �Landrover Experience�course.
.. enjoy a day at one of the National Trust properties or historic houses like Bicton Botanical Gardens or Forde Abbey.
.. explore the World Heritage coast, stopping for a crab sandwich on the beach at Beer fishing village.
.. relax at a great selection of village pubs serving quality local produce & excellent local brews (we even have our own Otter Brewery in the village-how lucky is that!!) We can recommend "The Railway" at Honiton, "Sidmouth Arms" at Upottery or "Six Bells" at Payhembury.

 

Accommodation Details

Accommodation
The farmhouse is efficiently centrally heated throughout and all windows are double-glazed. On chilly evenings in the autumn and winter, the large wood-burner in the Dining Hall becomes the �mother-figure� of the house and keeps us all as warm as toast. On special occasions we also light an open log fire in the Sitting Room.

UPSTAIRS -
Stairs, landing and all bedrooms are fully carpeted � top quality �Axminster� natural weave with deep underlay � so upstairs it�s soft under foot. The radiators in your room can be turned off if you are too warm & if you are �fresh air addicts� like ourselves, all windows are open-able. All bedrooms are en-suite or have private bathrooms; tea/coffee making facilities; top quality bath & hand towels; eco-friendly hand & body wash & eco guest soaps (hand-made for us using natural cold-pressed 'Ola' oil fragranced with essential oils).

We can accommodate up to six people in 3 spacious comfortable bedrooms:

"Hartridge" - lovely Super-King room (6' bed which can be made into twin) with sofa & en-suite shower room with Gr�he shower & WC. Supremely comfortable memory foam mattresses, top quality Egyptian cotton crisp linen & heavyweight Paisley throw. Laura Ashley curtains.

"Hensmoor" - smaller but similar quality double room (4'6" bed), comfortable pocket-sprung mattress with easy chair & sole use of adjacent large private bathroom with original restored 'roll-top' bath, Gr�he shower and WC.

"Dumpdon" - large bright dual aspect double room (4'6" bed),comfortable pocket-sprung mattress, with 2 easy chairs & en-suite shower room with WC.

(Note: "Dumpdon" can now also be used in conjunction with the adjoining large beamed open-plan Day Room with living/dining areas and full kitchen either as a luxury B&B suite or as part of our new "Cider Loft" Self Catering suite - see our separate Cider Loft self catering page on this site.)

DOWNSTAIRS -
Entrance hall/Dining Room - huge flagstones, inglenook fireplace & wood-burner, piano & sofa. Guests all share the large reclaimed oak dining table for breakfast, with views to the pretty front garden and hills beyond.

Double glass doors lead through to the Guests' Sitting Room with beautiful pale oak floor, beamed fireplace,T.V./DVD., & comfy sofas - a lovely quiet, light room.

OUTSIDE
A glazed door leads out to a small graveled terrace with seating - a great place to enjoy an evening sunset; steps up to the gardens and on through the old Orchard to the Meadow with a mown path to the bench at the end of the field...just listen to the birdsong and take in the tranquil scene across the valley!
