Old Stables Cottage is a cosy and relaxing one-bedroomed cottage sleeping two people. The cottage has recently undergone a period of refurbishment and offers all the comforts of home.

At the front of the cottage the gardens are furnished with tables and chairs to sit out and enjoy the countryside views and to the rear is a landscaped courtyard and a small porch / sunroom.

Facing West, the cottage and gardens take full advantage of the beautiful summer sunsets.

 

Accommodation Details

Sky TV and free Wi-fi are supplied within the cottage together with a good selection of tourist information brochures and leaflets to help you plan your holiday. We are always on hand to recommend our favourite local restaurants and visitor attractions to help you enjoy your stay.

Bed linen, towels, tea towels, bath mats and electricity are all included in the rental cost.

General Details

Situated just two minutes from Stranraer and five minutes from Portpatrick, the cottage offers the perfect peaceful retreat from a busy day out. The Mull of Galloway - Scotland's most Southerly point - is only 22 miles distant offering a delightful drive along the peninsula taking in a number of little villages, all of which have something different to offer from coffee shops, cafe's, pubs, restaurants, beaches, gardens, etc. Not to mention the fabulous scenery as you cruise along the coast and head towards the lighthouse, RSPB reserve and cafe with it's fabulous views at the Mull.

 

Other Information

From the cottage there is easy access to a number of beautiful beaches from long, sandy beaches to the more rugged beaches with rock pools. The effects of the gulf stream warm the sea, making it ideal for swimming on hot summer days. There is an excellent selection of gardens in the locality including the Botanic Garden at Port Logan and a number of golf courses, fishing lochs and rivers and easy access to forests and hills for walking or cycling. For those wishing to travel further afield the Irish ferries from the nearby ports at Cairnryan offer day trips to Belfast for shopping or sightseeing - including a visit to the world famous Titanic Exhibition.
