Overview

The Chestnuts is a traditional guest house in a quiet corner of Windermere, offering excellent bed and breakfast accommodation. We are only five minutes walk from Windermere village and ten to fifteen minutes walk to Bowness and the lake. There are various shops and restaurants in both villages.
The Chestnuts is over a hundred years old, enjoying both a secluded garden and private car park.
Six of our bedrooms have king-size (5 ft) beds, four of which have four-poster beds. We also have one room which can be either a super king-size bed or two single beds. All the rooms are en suite, some with bath as well as a shower.
Complimentary use of leisure facilities is offered to all our guests at Windermere Manor which is only a few minutes drive away. Free wi-fi is also available.

Other Information

The Chestnuts is peacefully located between the viallages of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, just off the main Lake Road. We are easily reached by car, bus or railway and make the perfect location for exploring the Lake District.
Windermere railway station is a short taxi drive or fifteen minute walk. This connects you to the mainline railway station at Oxenholme (Kendal) which is a fifteen minute journey.
The nearest motorway is the M6 from which you exit at junction 36.
