Overview

We are conveniently situated on the edge of picturesque Ambleside with a good selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and cinemas a short walk away. Lake Windermere is just a stroll and many lovely walks start from our front door.

Ample private parking is available off road at the front of the property.

Originally two Victorian cottages, now providing modern facilities whilst retaining the traditional feel of a country cottage.

Food is sourced locally, Home cooking our speciality. Fully licensed. Special diets can be catered for with prior notice.

 

Accommodation Details

After our extensive refurbishment last winter most of our bedrooms are individually styled and have contemporary shower rooms. Rooms 4, 6 and 7 will follow this winter.

Rooms 1, 2, 3 are all double rooms with en suite showers.

Room 4 is a double (views to Loughrigg) which has its own bathroom immediately outside its door.

Room 5 is a twin or 6’ double room with en suite shower.

Room 6 has a double bed and full sized single bed with en suite shower.

Room 7 is a small double at the back (views to Loughrigg) with en suite shower and corner bath.

Room 8 is a luxurious suite with a private balcony for outdoor eating. The view is superb, the bathroom is a wow!

 

Room Rate Guide:

Our rates vary from £35 to £45 pppn dependent on room, season and length of stay.

Room 8 is from £150 Per Night.

 

General Details

The AA describe us, in their 2010 Guide, as follows:-
A warm welcome awaits along with home baking & refreshments served on arrival. Lindsey & Tim create a definite home away from home feel making their guests feel very welcome. A well presented property benefiting from off road car parking ideally located on the edge of Ambleside. Very good breakfast; see how many puzzles you can work out!

Other Information

Haven Cottage is only 5 minutes' walk to the centre of Ambleside

You need to leave the centre of Ambleside going North on the A591 towards Keswick. At the mini roundabout, you will see a “Pay & Display” car park on your left followed by the Fire Station and Police Station. We are approximately 100yds further along on the left hand side.
