Sandbed is a delightful two bedroom Cottage situated in a superb rural location at the foot of Harter Fell, part of the spectacular Howgills. To the front of the cottage there is a breathtaking view of Wild Boar Fell with the Fellend �clouds� in the foreground, where you can explore the clints and grikes, while looking for fossils of long forgotten creatures in the lime stone paving. Your only companions on theses tranquil fells are the native free roaming fell ponies, hefted sheep, pheasants and the distant call of curlews and buzzards.
Sandbed cottage has an orchard to the side where you can sit on the picnic bench, encircled by stunning views, and watch for the wild deer that come daily into the little wood opposite the house. If you are lucky you may even catch a glimpse of our elusive red squirrel making its way to our feeders, as the Eden Valley is in one of its last strong holds.

 

Accommodation Details

Sandbed Cottage is a delightful mix of old and new, with exposed beams, stone work and flagged floor, the furniture has been carefully handpicked to provide charm and character along with all modern conveniences. The downstairs living space is open plan with a log burner for cosy nights in, digital TV, DVD and a fully equipped kitchen. The upstairs is reached by a handmade oak staircase onto a gallery sitting area from which there are 2 good sized bedrooms, one with a king size bed and one with 2 single beds. There is also a spacious shower room with WC, basin and large quadrant shower cubicle.

Low season 7 night stay from �260.00 ranging to High season �570.00.

Short breaks are available from �200 for 3 night stay Please contact us for details.

A deposit of �100 is required at the time of booking. Balance is due 8 weeks before holiday.

Oil fired central heating. Log burner (starter pack included in tariff).

There are gardens to the side and rear of the cottage with seating areas that look straight onto the fells.

Off-road parking is available for 2/3 cars.

Children welcome. Cot and high chair available.

We welcome horses. Stabling facilities are available by prior arrangment.

We welcome family dogs. Please repect the sheep on the fells and livestock in nearby fields.

From M6
Exit at J37 and take the A684 to Sedbergh. From Sedbergh take the A683 towards Kirkby Stephen. After approximately 7 miles Sandbed Cottage is on the left.

From A1
Take the A66 west from Scotch corner to Brough. Turn south at Brough on the A685 towards Kirkby Stephen. Continue through Kirkby Stephen. After about 2 miles turn left on the A683 signposted to Sedbergh. After approximately 5 miles Sandbed Cottage is on the right.
